It's incredible how far anime has come in terms of mass acceptance. There was a time when anime fans were looked down upon. Now more viewers are connecting to this source of entertainment, and the innovative content offered by anime is widely appreciated around the world.
2019 has a solid roster, however, 2020 promises to be even better with some of the most anticipated sequels, originals and manga adaptations. So here's a list of the most anticipated anime shows that will premiere in 2020.
Spiral / Uzumaki
Junji Ito, a famous horror mangaka, is best known for his work on The Spiral. The manga tells the story of the fictional city of Kurozu, whose inhabitants suffer from a mysterious curse associated with spirals. Every page is covered with disturbing, inexplicable allusions that somehow creep under your skin. This iconic manga hasn't been used in anime adaptations for a long time, but that's about to change. Adult Swim will now be creating a four-part miniseries adaptation, and from its recent trailer, the anime seems to capture very well the gist of Junji's black-and-white depictions that defy the boundaries of logical explanation. While the anime follows the club's adventures as a group, it also reflects Hachiman's transformation as he begins to appreciate the people around him more than ever.
